About Us

OUR STORY

The Bank of Ceylon (BOC) was established on 1 August 1939, at No. 41, Bristol Street, Colombo 1.

Forty years later, in 1979, the Bank of Ceylon Pensioners’ Association (BOCPA) was established. The Association comprises retired employees of all grades of the Bank of Ceylon, as well as their widows and widowers.

Currently, the Association has approximately 9,000 members.

Over the years, the Bank of Ceylon Pensioners’ Association has introduced two schemes to provide financial assistance and support to its members, funded through membership fees and prudent investments.

The first is the Death Donation Fund (DDF), which provides a donation to the nominee of a member following the member’s death, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the scheme.

The second is the Special Relief Fund (SRF) Scheme. Under this scheme, a member who undergoes surgery for an illness classified as critical by the Association may be eligible for reimbursement of up to Rs. 50,000, once during their lifetime, upon submission of a claim and subject to the rules and regulations governing the scheme.
